Using nitric acid in furniture finishing and woodworking.

¶ Nitric Acid. This acid diluted with from four to six parts of water produces yellow stains. When less water is used the stain color resulting from its use is a reddish or brownish yellow, depending upon the kind of wood. The color is permanent to strong light. Nitric acid is a colorless highly corrosive liquid in chemistry.
