Mission Style Finish - Brown

Mission Brown

¶ Used on oak, ash, chestnut.

¶ Formula:

1 gallon warm water to which is added all the chrome alum that will be dissolved in it, - a saturated solution.
Brush on the above solution and let dry. Sandpaper and clean up. (A saturated solution of manganese sulphate in water can be used instead of the chrome alum.)

¶ Filler:

None

¶ Finish:

Shellac, orange, and wax; or flat varnish.
