Dark Gray

Dark Gray Water Stain

¶ Used on maple.

¶ Formula:

1 ounce tannic acid,
1 gallon warm water.
Brush on the above solution for the first coat, let dry and sandpaper.
14 grains nigrosine black, dry, water soluble,
2 ½ grains orange Y aniline, dry, water .soluble,
½ ounce sulphate of iron, dried,
2 ounces sulphate of soda,
1 gallon hot water.

¶ Filler:

None.

¶ Finish:

Wax and polish to dull lustre.
