Painting Cypress

A question on painting cypress wood.

Hi, my name is Charles and I am in the second year of making adirondack chairs. I had some paint problems last year of the paint blistering down to bare wood. I have invested a lot of time and money into this and I still can’t seem to get it right. I have read your article and although it helps, what do you suggest for someone who is not so scientific. Where could I find someone to help me mix those formulas. Is it just in the primer? What we used was an oil base primer and two coats of latex paint. I really need help. No one else seems to know why this is happening and can’t seem to give a constructive answer.
Thank you.

Charles
